Her Art
Between 2012 and 2025, painting became one of the most joyful and enduring parts of Prem’s life. During those years, her family encouraged her creativity with acrylic paints, brushes, hundreds of blank canvases, and frequent visits to Painting with a Twist sessions. What began as an enjoyable pastime gradually grew into a genuine passion and an important part of her everyday life.
Prem approached each canvas with curiosity and enthusiasm, experimenting freely with colors, landscapes, flowers, birds, abstract designs, and scenes that simply captured her imagination. She was not concerned with artistic conventions or perfection; for her, painting was about expression, discovery, and the simple pleasure of creating something with her own hands.
Over the years, she completed nearly two hundred paintings. Together, they form a colorful record of her creativity and the many hours of happiness she found at the easel. Each canvas carries something of her personality—her patience, optimism, imagination, and distinctive sense of color. Many of her paintings now hang in the homes of her children, relatives, and friends. They have become much more than works of art. They are tangible reminders of Prem’s presence and of the warmth and creativity she brought into the lives of those around her.

Prem lived for many years with chronic asthma. In her memory, a number of her paintings are being made available to people in the United States who would like to give one of them a new home while also supporting the American Lung Association. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, advocacy, and support.

Most of the paintings measure approximately 16 by 20 inches, and the family will take care of the packaging and shipping arrangements.
